We’re living in a time when it’s ‘the thing’ to do sequels and popular adaptations. Think Marvel, Disney live-action reboots, that sort of thing. So it’s no surprise that the last ten years or so have been filled with adaptations that either rock your world or severely depress you with how bad they are. Maybe it’s the writing? The acting? The way it’s filmed? Either way, we love to find things to hate about poorly-done adaptations. But even more than finding shows that make us cringe, we look forward to that golden example of exceptional filming married with the nostalgia associated with its corresponding book.
